A few moments from the documentary launch at Balgandharv Rangmandir, Pune (2 August, 2025)
Testimonials About Documentary Launch
Read the article and got touched by the incidence that happened in Savita's life and the way she handled the tragedy of losing parents and a brother—the very tragic incidence—with great courage. And now what you are doing for the senior citizens is again very remarkable. Your parents must be feeling very proud and giving their आशीर्वाद . I am touched by your attempt to write a book (shraddanjali) to your father, श्री. Arun Sarnaik. The Indian Express article is an eye-opener and inspiration to all.

I’ve known Savita for nearly two decades, and reading this filled me with admiration all over again. Her journey—from navigating deep personal loss to building something meaningful for others—reflects the quiet strength and grace she’s always carried. The documentary is such a heartfelt tribute, not just to her father, but to the values she’s lived by. Sneh Dham, too, is a testament to her ability to turn pain into purpose. This story is moving, inspiring, and so deeply true to who she is. Truly proud to know her.

Today's program was so good; there are no words to describe it. The shooting locations, the interviews with the dignitaries—everything is visually as beautiful as the experience of listening to them. The best part, as everyone stressed, is that it has been shot with a lot of restraint where it could have been otherwise. Your ability to look back & reflect with maturity is amazing. What can be said about the words by Nana, Mohan Agashe & Jabbar Patel. Everything is too good.

The film is beautifully made; we could gather many hidden facets of your father and his interactions with your family and other film fraternity. Your face-to-face interviews with all stalwarts were very genuine and interactive your screen presence was natural and real. The ending had us all in tears; however, I am sure his memories will be cherished by one and all. Your creative efforts and the directorial team’s dedication have truly made it a watch-worthy film.

Pappa Saanga Kunache- Extremely well thought out, organized & executed program. IMO, the Marathi Film Industry is blessed with very few “truly” handsome macho heroes—yesteryear, Arun Sarnaik & present day, Gashmeer Mahajani !!! Can’t imagine the trauma you had to face with this gruesome tragedy!!! Hats off to your mental strength & your ability to shape up your life so beautifully later. I am sure, Arunji, your Ma & your Dadu are extremely proud of you & are blessing your beautiful family from the universe! I'm proud to be your friend & wish you abundance of health, prosperity & peace.

This gesture is truly incredible! There’s no doubt your father was a legendary and well-known star. He continues to live on through his timeless films. But yes, the reality is that with time, the new generation tends to forget, and even the brightest stars begin to fade from public memory. Yet, you’ve created this beautiful bouquet of memories for him. It’s absolutely heart-touching. There’s even a wax statue of him in the museum—but what you’ve done is more than that. He may never have imagined that his little princess would give him a new life, a rebirth in the world of Indian cinema. I’m sure he would be proud of you today.

I am still thinking of the wonderful event we attended this morning. I can't say enough about how happy I was to have been able to attend such a lovely program. Your father must be so very proud of you for what you achieved today. Needless to say, I went back with a mixed bag of emotions—deep sadness at what you must have gone through, salutations for how you would have brought yourself together after such a huge tragedy and then awe and admiration seeing what a great star you are in your own right. Looking forward to the publication of your book and more such creative adventures from you.

What a memorable film you have made—simply awesome. You appear like a pro actor in the film, totally natural, genuine, and spontaneous. So many threads of your dear papa were unveiled that it was wonderful and emotional at the same time. You said it right—पप्पा रसिकांचे होते आणि राहतील. The event was flawlessly organized with the right people saying the right things...Sufficient and necessary. Swati's script was original and free-flowing. In all, a wonderful experience. I am proud of you as my friend, and thanks for making us a part of the event. Stay blessed....

“पप्पा सांगा कुणाचे?”—Through this deeply sensitive and graceful short film, it not narrated an emotional memory but offered a heartfelt tribute—from a daughter to her father. Your narration was honest and composed, and precisely because of that, it resonated straight with the heart. As a daughter, a wife, a mother—and above all, a deeply reflective human being—you have transformed personal grief into a universally moving experience, and the artistic form you’ve given to memory—सर्वार्थाने प्रेरणादायक आहे.

I’m truly moved and left speechless. Your heartfelt tribute to your father was deeply touching and beautifully intimate. It felt like the sincerest shraddhanjali one could offer. The documentary you created was crafted with such love and filled with cherished memories. Dr. Savita, your strength and grace in embracing life made me emotional. I deeply admire your courage. The entire program was crisp, elegant, and thoughtfully presented. Wishing you and your family continued blessings and happiness. Warmest regards.

The documentary was just too good. I got to know about your father and his many facets, which are unknown to us. I always saw him on screen as a handsome man. I watched Simhasan in my younger days and was impressed as a young mind those days. Still remember many scenes. The documentary also highlighted a young daughter’s grief and grit to overcome it and become an MD! Your acting skills also came to light! You have inherited the best from him. Kudos to you for making such a sensitive documentary! Congratulations!

A well-organized and well-planned graceful event!! A well-made, well-researched, and well-presented journey of one of the Greats!! All aspects of your father apart from acting were portrayed in a nice, easy, flowing manner. Personal interviews gave it a special touch. An effort that was worth it!! You have truly immortalized your father and his legacy. You are an exceptional daughter!! The event was memorable!

Your love and affection for your father, an icon of Marathi Ranga Bhumi, shines through in the fabulous documentary you have created for the Great Shri Arunji Sarnaik. Outstanding storytelling to describe the life journey of the great actor-singer. The storyline is gripping with never a dull moment, and your anchoring adds a beautiful personal touch to this outstanding piece of work. Many congratulations to you, Savita, and the entire production team. Thoroughly enjoyed the special screening. Thank you so much for making us a part of the event.

I just wanted to say how deeply moved we were by the documentary. Telling such a personal and emotional story must not have been easy, but you handled it with such beauty and grace. It was powerful, heartfelt, and truly inspiring. You’ve done him proud. Congratulations again, and thank you for sharing something so special with us.

Just a brief note to mention how you made everyone realize the strong person you are from inside. Little did we ever realize how you must have handled life. Very few who are great know how to embrace uncertainty when it comes, and you demonstrated it with a smile. So difficult. Every person on the stage and off the stage has placed you at a level much higher than you can ever imagine. You have taught us all how little we have understood life. Thank you so much for inviting me and Gayatri to this function. Altogether an immersive and enriching experience.

Such a beautiful documented journey of Marathi cinema legend, your father, Shri Arun Sarnaik. As a kid being in Bombay, my parents were regular Marathi cinema and drama goers at Plaza at Dadar, Shivajinatya mandir and others. I have been so familiar with most of the songs from those movies, as my mother sings those tunes. Take a bow for this beautiful tribute to him. We loved it.

Thank you for sharing your life’s journey with us. I cannot imagine the effort that must have gone into making this tribute to your dad, Mom and Sanjay. I can imagine the emotional roller coaster that you stepped on while it was making. It was so very heartfelt and sincere to yourself and enlightening to us. Hope we as your friends and well-wishers have been able to share and carry that loss for you in some infinitesimal way. I feel you are fortunate to be born to your parents and to further carry their legacy, their footprint on the sands of time.
